The National Hockey League’s newest expansion team, the Vegas Golden Knights, are off to a record-breaking 3-0 start to the season – the first expansion team ever to win its first three regular season games. Despite the team’s hot start, the city of Las Vegas still mourns the horrific events of October 1st, and the city’s newest professional sports franchise is doing its part to offer support.
On Tuesday, October 10th the Golden Knights celebrated their home opener with a dominant 5-2 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes, supported by an impassioned home crowd. Prior to the game, in commemoration of October 1st victims, families, and first responders, the team wore special warm-up jerseys featuring the #VegasStrong theme that has become the rally cry of the cause to support those affected by the events.
